About
Founded in 1931, the Archaeological Society of New Jersey (ASNJ) has a mission to promote and encourage the study of archaeology in New Jersey. Our main purpose is to support preservation of important archaeological sites and artifact collections, and to encourage and assist in their study by approved professional methods.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our all volunteer executive board works hard to bring members exciting and interesting programs, events, publications, news, and opportunities to get their hands dirty. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to join our society. Our members range from amateurs and professionals to those with interests in history and archaeology.
Membership perks include our scholarly Bulletin, printed annually, four quarterly newsletters, meeting attendance, access to volunteer digs, and opportunities to meet and network with others in the archaeological community.
